This is my favorite picture from the summer of 2014. This picture wasn't easy to capture at first, but I eventually got this one. These are my cousins, Landon and Julianne. In the picture, you can notice that Julianne has a feeding tube through her nose. When she was born in February, her organs were outside of her body. She was in the NICU for several weeks so that her skin would close up properly on its own. Within each week, Julianne progressed a little further than the day before. She finally was able to go home after two months and of course it was difficult for my aunt and uncle to adjust to the new experience of raising another child. This summer, my whole entire family went to the Outer Banks for a week. At first, my aunt and uncle didn't think they would be able to come because of the long car ride for the baby, but by miracle, they came! It was so amazing and extraordinary to be able to hold her for the first time and to see her personality shine through. She is the cutest and strongest little fighter. As of today, she had a tube surgically put into her stomach because she wasn't gaining enough weight. The doctor said it was a miracle that she didn't experience the amount of pain that she should have felt. She's doing amazing and is gaining weight. This picture is so special to me because I think it shows how much this family has been through. And even though they faced trials, you can still see the joy on both of their faces. It was so much fun to shoot them because both of their personalities are so different. It makes the picture perfect. It's definitely harder to take pictures of toddlers and babies. Julianne gave me the biggest grin and stuck out her little tongue which was super cute. Landon kept squirming and wouldn't smile, so all my cousins were trying to make him laugh. After ten takes, I finally got this shot and was beyond excited! The scenery was really nice as well. We were on the beach taking family pictures and I had the camera at one time and started taking pictures of the kids. It was a gorgeous evening and I got some pretty awesome shots in the end.
